The Public Health Law Center at William Mitchell College of Law, recognized as one of America’s preeminent sources of expertise in public health law and policy, has an immediate opening for a part-time (32 hrs per week) health policy analyst to serve as an in-house public health policy researcher and educator. This is a grant-funded position through July 2011.
The Heath Policy Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to support a community-academic research project to increase the availability of comprehensive tobacco cessation benefits within health plans administered by Minnesota-based Taft-Hartley Health and Welfare Funds, and improve promotion of covered cessation services for unionized and service workers and families who receive health care benefits through these health plans.
Qualifications: Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) or a related degree; excellent research skills, including experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; superb writing skills; and experience with community partnerships or coalition building. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with labor unions; collaborative community-based research; health policy, health insurance and health finance; and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including familiarity with NVivo software.
